Were you at the Fourth Annual Kentucky Health Literacy Summit on March 7 & 8, 2013? Erika McMullen, Project Manager Employer Programs at the Health Collaborative was excited to be a speaker along with Karen Campbell, Director of Wellness at Northern Kentucky University for a breakout session. Their presentation focused on helping employees find and use health information to make better health decisions.
Employers are the largest purchasers of health care. It is an expensive undertaking and therefore disheartening to consider that for every employee, between $1,900 and $2,200 per year is wasted on redundant, excessive, or ineffective care.
Northern Kentucky University is a model example of how to implement the resources and quality data that YourHealthMatters offers. They have bridged the gap from having a health & wellness strategy to infusing in throughout their culture. Very impressive!
