National Digital Health Startups to Pitch to Local Health Care Providers
The Health Collaborative and Cintrifuse partner for Innovation Exchange: Health Edition

CINCINNATI – Greater Cincinnati is building another layer in its foundation to become a hub for digital health innovation. Local nonprofits The Health Collaborative and Cintrifuse are behind the movement. They have partnered to bring entrepreneurs to Cincinnati to pitch their new technology, make some deals, and inspire other health entrepreneurs to take advantage of the area’s strong health technology and supportive startup infrastructure.

On November 4 the two organizations will co-host Innovation XChange: Digital Health Edition – a pitch-style event featuring a series of 5-minute pitches from local and national digital health startups.

The event will also feature keynote addresses from former U.S. Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra and Josh Rosenthal. Josh is a serial entrepreneur and Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Rowdmap, a web-based health business management platform designed to identify high value care providers. Aneesh will address how third party data, including data from wearables, is influencing heath care now and will change the health landscape in the near future.

“Helping our health care stakeholders leverage innovation is a reflection of our commitment to improving health and health care in our region,” said Craig Brammer, CEO of The Health Collaborative. “Our care providers will be exposed to innovative technology solutions and the startups will see how eager our community is to embrace health technology to improve health and the delivery of care.

The curated startups, from as far away as Utah, include verticals such as mobile medical technology, wearable technology, telemedicine, and documentation management.

Following the pitch presentations, attendees will have an opportunity to have one-on-one speed networking sessions with the startups.

“Cincinnati has built one of the most vibrant startup ecosystems in between the coasts – we call it #StartupCincy – and digital health needs to be part of that ecosystem,” said Wendy Lea, CEO of Cintrifuse. “We are committed to this critical sector as we further develop and support the success of high-potential startups in the region.”

The event is being sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

About Aneesh Chopra: As the first Chief Technology Officer of the United States, Chopra designed the National Wireless Initiative, helped launch Startup America, and executed an “open innovation” strategy across the government built on private sector collaboration— opening up data, convening on standards and staffing “lean government startups.” He is currently co-founder and executive vice president of Hunch Analytics, a technology firm focused on improving the productivity of public and regulated sectors of the economy through data analytics.

About Josh Rosenthal: Rosenthal has helped create award winning analytics systems that have covered over 200MM members and his work on payer data and analytics, particularly using government data sources, has won praise from Business Week and Entrepreneur Magazine.
