We chatted with Chris Zander, Senior Integration Engineer, to catch up on the latest news in his world.

Chris is a relatively quiet person so you might be surprised at what we learned!

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][vc_column_text]Q: Hi Chris! Could you give us an overview of your role at THC in three sentences or less?
A: “I make things go.” I am responsible for data integrations into our HIE suite as well as interfaces that send data out of the HIE suite to recipients. I am also responsible for Direct Mail (secure email for Emergency Department Alerts and Continuity of Care Documents (CCDs).

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: The best part is when an interface/project works right the first time (rare!)

Q: Tell us about a current activity or project you’re working on, or involved in.
A: Currently the most interesting work is getting EMS run reports from local fire stations into UCHealth as a pilot.

Q: We heard you and your wife are expecting! When is the new baby due, and have names been picked out yet?
A: Due on 7/20, we don’t know the gender of the kid (working name is Bambino). If it’s a boy, it’s going to be Francis (family name) so rooting for a girl :-) but we haven’t finalized a name yet on that front.

Q: Where did you grow up, and how has it shaped who you have become?
A: I grew up moving every two years (not a military brat, my parents were often moving for career/housing opportunities). It made me independent, a light packer, and adverse to sentimentality.

Q: What are you most proud of, personally or professionally?
A: My wife: not sure how I lucked out there, but I’d be lost without her.

Q: Word on the street is that you used to be a gourmet chef – what would your perfect meal entail?
A: Any more, a perfect meal is one that is had without interruption and still at its intended serving temperature :-)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
