In this edition of the Staff Spotlight, we’re featuring:
Jane was recently hired as our new Manager of Informatics, working closely with the hb/suite of HealthBridge services. We’re enjoying getting to know her, and her contagious smile!
Q: Hi Jane! Could you give us an overview of your role at THC in three sentences or less?
A: I manage a team responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting healthcare based interfaces, to ensure that best practices for support and issue resolution are adopted and practiced by the team. My focus is on enhancing the customer experience by ensuring all relationships and interactions with customers lead to their satisfaction. I determine and establish operational and support metrics to ensure that key management objectives are being met.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: I get to work with talented knowledgeable folks who are striving to implement solutions that benefit our customers.
Q: Tell us about a current activity or project you’re working on, or involved in.
A: Currently I’m working on evaluating the current ticket backlog, to better triage & ensure that we are providing a positive customer experience especially after the difficulties around the Verinovum implementation.
Q: Where did you grow up, and how has it shaped who you have become?
A: I grew up in Kenya, my childhood experiences have shaped my outlook of life personally and professionally, such as being open to try things out, and to look for new experiences with a positive outlook in life.
Q: What’s your favorite stress-relieving activity outside of the office, and why?
A: Yoga. Apart from the physical benefits of increased flexibility, muscle strength and tone, yoga allows me to take time from daily life to shut down, meditate, and declutter my mind.
Q: What are you most proud of, personally or professionally?
A: Being able to complete a half marathon at the Flying Pig this year. A lot of physical and mental strength went into getting to the finish line.
Q: If you had a catch phrase, what would it be?
A: Life is short, enjoy and make meaningful moments
Q: Where is your favorite vacation spot? Or, tell us a bit about your most favorite vacation ever.
A: Road Trip! One year, a friend’s husband was being transferred to Las Vegas from Texas and needed to transport one of their cars. Together with my sister, we decided to do a road trip from San Antonio, Texas through New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, then Las Vegas, Nevada over 4 days. My sister and I then flew to New York in time for New Year’s Eve.
