General Description

The Systems Administrator should be a self-motivator with great customer service skills. You should also have solid organizational abilities, and be comfortable in a team-based environment. You must demonstrate flexibility and attention to detail while maintaining a professional demeanor in a fast paced environment.

Hours/Week: 40 hrs/week; Exempt

Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues
  • Ability to administrator and troubleshoot Microsoft products. Helpful Skills and Certifications would include: A+, Network +, MCSA/MCSE, and/or network monitoring
  • Experience with network switches (preferably Cisco and Sonicwall), including configurations and performance tuning
  • Experience with VMware ESX/ESXi
  • Experience of backups. NetBackup experience a plus
  • Knowledge in architectural design of servers and associated subsystems including operating systems, storage, backups, services, monitoring and reporting
  • Knowledge in the installation, upgrades, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting and security of Windows 2003 through 2012 operating systems
  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues
  • Ability to administrator and troubleshoot Microsoft products
  • PC user deployment and support experience including application administration, Microsoft Windows, Office and terminal services
  • Performs first-level core troubleshooting on hardware/software systems problems; answers questions, provides technical solutions, and follows up to assist users in solving their information systems problems in a continuous user-support environment
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically
  • Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
  • Administer help desk software
  • Knowledge with networks physical and logical security
  • Assist in System Event (critical system down) process to direct visibility provided by monitoring; follow-up to fill any identified monitoring gaps or opportunities for improvement
  • Must enjoy a challenging, fast-paced environment and have the organizational skills to enable success in this environment

  • Provide 24/7 on-call coverage as needed
Education/Certification Requirements
  • Associates Degree Information Technology or Computer Science field
  • Minimum of 5 year experience in related field
