Colleen O’Toole, PhD, Chief Administrative Officer at The Health Collaborative, has been selected as a finalist for the Cincinnati Business Courier’s 2019 C-Suite Awards in the “Chief Operating Officer” category.

The C-Suite Awards Program honors C-level executives for their contributions and commitment to the community, recognizing those that have demonstrated outstanding professional performance and leadership that has profoundly impacted their company.

Colleen O’Toole, PhD has been Chief Administrative Officer of The Health Collaborative – formerly the Greater Cincinnati Health Council, HealthBridge, and The Health Collaborative – since the three nonprofits’ merger in 2015. Dr. O’Toole has spent her 27-year career working to improve the health and well-being of others in our community. From her early days as a dental hygienist up through today’s diplomatic work with The Health Collaborative’s many member hospitals and other diverse stakeholders, she has kept community & population health top-of-mind and engineered her efforts to find common ground and maximize mutually-beneficial results.

Perhaps her most impressive feat has been her long-standing role as a diplomat and relationship cultivator to THC’s member hospitals and health systems. The Health Collaborative serves 58 hospitals comprising 10 health systems; more than 1,200 physician practices; and over 10,000 physicians utilizing its products and services. At the center of the relationship management and strategic planning for all of this activity is Dr. O’Toole, offering her insights and institutional knowledge each step of the way.

“Colleen has the unique ability to think in terms of big-picture organizational strategy while attending to the day-to-day details of our office operations. I can’t fathom THC becoming the innovative industry leader it is today without her.”

– Craig Brammer, CEO
The Health Collaborative

These organizations, while often in direct competition with one another, are afforded the opportunity through THC programs and services (and in part, Dr. O’Toole’s expert diplomacy) to come to the table and find common, mutually-beneficial solutions to some of the industry’s toughest challenges.

“We’re fortunate to have a strong leader like Colleen on our Executive team,” shares Craig Brammer, CEO of THC. “She offers a balanced, nuanced point of view when it comes to our leadership’s decision-making process. She also has the unique ability to think in terms of big-picture organizational strategy while attending to the day-to-day details of our office operations. I can’t fathom THC becoming the innovative industry leader it is today without her.”

Never forgetting that the healthcare industry is composed of people, Dr. O’Toole brings compassion, understanding, and wisdom to every interaction, and strives to infuse our organization’s work with a spirit of equity and inclusion.

THC is proud to join the Business Courier in honoring Dr. O’Toole for her accomplishments throughout her career. Winners will be announced on August 22nd at the awards reception being held at The Renaissance downtown. Congratulations and good luck from the THC family, Colleen.
