Collective Health Agenda in Action: 513Relief Bus

This year we launched the Community Health Needs Assessment, a data-based document outlining the three priority healthcare issues challenging our region. Heart Disease & Stroke, Mental Health, and Housing Stability were identified. Our member hospitals are working tirelessly to solve for these challenges with projects big and small. These efforts are outlined in the Collective Health Agenda (CHA), the action-oriented report that details the specifics of what each healthcare system is doing.

In the spirit of transparency, each month, we will be highlighting an initiative happening in the region. Today, we want to highlight the 513Relief Bus, a mobile resource center funded by Hamilton County that brings health, social, and economic services directly into communities. The team at UC Health serves as the premier medical partner to the bus, providing staffing and logistical support throughout its annual run from late February-November (providing over 1000+ screenings in FY’25). Through this partnership, UC Health is empowering healthier communities through mobile care, trusted partnerships, and inclusive outreach.

The bus’s focus on Cardiovascular Health, (providing blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol screenings), delivers on the commitment to improve our region’s heart health challenges. Because it also often provides customized social wrap-around services and other varied healthcare offerings depending on what community needs most, the 513Relief Bus also works to chip away at both Mental Health and Housing Stability challenges one community member
