Former TriHealth Leader to join The Health Collaborative as Executive-on-Loan
John Prout, former President & CEO of TriHealth, will serve as executive-on-loan for The Health Collaborative

CINCINNATI – John Prout, former President & CEO of TriHealth, joins The Health Collaborative as a loaned executive to assist the organization with strategic planning and to further strengthen relationships with Greater Cincinnati’s business leaders.

Bringing together those who provide care, pay for care, and receive care, The Health Collaborative is a social enterprise organization based in Greater Cincinnati dedicated to improving quality in health and healthcare.

As a board member of the Greater Cincinnati Health Council from 2000-2003 and The Health Collaborative from 2005-2016, Prout’s knowledge of the organization combined with his proven leadership within the Greater Cincinnati community will help The Health Collaborative advance healthcare transformation in the region.

“I’m looking forward to John’s guidance. His many years of leadership in our community will further accelerate The Health Collaborative’s mission,” said Craig Brammer, CEO of The Health Collaborative. “We’re grateful for his commitment to the Greater Cincinnati community over the years and we’re excited to have the opportunity to learn from his knowledge and experience.”

Prout served as the president and chief executive officer of TriHealth, Inc. from 1998 until 2015. He held the position of CEO of TriHealth’s five hospitals, Good Samaritan, Bethesda North, TriHealth Evendale, Bethesda Butler and McCullough-Hyde Memorial, which serve the Tri-State region of Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. He guided the growth of TriHealth to include close to 12,000 employees, over 130 ambulatory locations, over 500 employed physicians and an independent medical staff of over 1,800.

Prout’s commitment to improving the health status within the Greater Cincinnati region and his enthusiasm for community collaboration led him to serve in various volunteer leadership roles. In addition to his 16-year tenure as a Greater Cincinnati Health Council/The Health Collaborative board member, Prout has served on the Cincinnati Regional Business Committee, a civic organization dedicated to improving economic competitiveness in the Cincinnati region. He served as Chairman of the Uptown Consortium, a community partnership working on the improvement of the physical and economic environment of Cincinnati’s Uptown neighborhood, and chairs the United Way Partners for a Competitive Workforce, a regional partnership to help get people back to work and help businesses find qualified workers.

“I look forward to the opportunity to continue my work to improve comprehensive health and healthcare with The Health Collaborative – now, with a renewed focus on engaging our strong business sector,” Prout said.

“John has a strong legacy of improving healthcare, and ultimately, the overall health of our community. This new role represents a natural next step for him in partnering with The Health Collaborative to provide insight into regional health issues and helping to catalyze the community will around solutions,” said Mark Clement, President & CEO of TriHealth.
