Our work
We’re working together to solve healthcare’s toughest challenges
Collective Health
Improving the health of our community means more than delivering quality care to individuals. It takes more than solving problems as they occur. To build a truly healthy and thriving region, we must proactively support the people, systems and institutions that make excellent healthcare possible and ensure everyone everywhere has equal access to it.
Advancing Community Health
Alongside our members and partners, we’re working to boost access to care and combat disparities due to race, geography, and other social drivers to health to promote health equity in our communities.
Workforce Innovation
There are more than 13,000 healthcare vacancies in our region, and nearly 3,000 of those are for nurses who are critical in the care of patients. To ensure our region’s healthcare workforce can support the increased demand for care in years to come, Workforce Innovation at The Health Collaborative convenes employers, educators, students and community collaborators to grow the talent pipeline and build the skilled workforce our community needs to thrive.
Emergency Preparedness
Public health crises have the power to devastate communities, but with proper planning and coordinated action, we can mitigate their impact. Through our emergency preparedness efforts, we partner with regional organizations to prepare for the worst so we can support better outcomes together.

Community Health Needs AssessmentPrograms
We can’t solve problems we don’t know exist, which is why hospitals participate in our recurrent Community Health Needs Assessment, a study designed to identify top health conditions, the root causes of unmet health needs, and barriers to healthcare services. By collaborating with us and our many diverse partners, participants provide valuable data that illuminates trends across the region and informs actionable strategies healthcare providers can implement to improve outcomes.
Workforce Dashboard
There are more than 16,500 healthcare vacancies in our region, and nearly 3,000 of those are for nurses who are critical in the care of patients. As we strive to increase our region’s healthcare talent pipeline, we continually monitor workforce shortages through our workforce dashboard. This actionable data provides insight into areas of untapped opportunity to close the gap and helps employers make informed decisions.
Trauma Registry
In our effort to improve trauma care throughout the region, The Health Collaborative collects and analyzes trauma and injury data from participating regional hospitals. This data enables hospitals to benchmark their effectiveness and helps us all identify trends and opportunities to improve outcomes.
