FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Region’s Hospitals and Public Health Vaccinating Initial Phases
Vaccinations are being scheduled for our highest risk members of the public

January 13, 2020 (CINCINNATI, OH) – The Health Collaborative member hospitals, in partnership with local public health departments, and other government agencies are working to meet the need for vaccinating individuals who qualify for initial vaccine distribution.

Healthcare workers and personnel who are routinely involved in the care of COVID-19 patients, first responders and patients and staff within skilled nursing facilities are included in this first phase. Those who are 80 years of age or older will be eligible starting next week.

Hospitals and public health departments are working quickly to provide the vaccine to all those who are eligible.

This current phase includes members of the public in the highest risk category. If you are not yet eligible, please do not contact your provider to schedule an appointment yet. Pre-registration for vaccines may be available through your local public health jurisdiction – please visit their website for additional details.

“Public health, hospitals, private providers and community organizations have been working around the clock to ensure a collaborative and equitable approach to vaccine distribution across the region. The complexities are great and the demand for vaccines is high- please be patient, your turn will come. We are on the home stretch, the best we can do is to work together by staying informed of the latest vaccine information.”

– Tiffany Mattingly, MSN, RN, Senior Director, Clinical Initiatives & Quality Improvement

We ask for your continued patience to make sure we are vaccinating the right people, at the right time, and have enough supplies to administer the second dose. We ask for your continued commitment to keeping our region safe. Please wear a mask, wash your hands, continue to practice social distancing, and stay home when you are ill.
