The Health Collaborative’s Community Health Team welcomes Bansari Shah. Bansari is completing a fall internship as part of her Master of Public Health degree at the University of Cincinnati. She will be working with Lauren Bartoszek and Ericson Imarenezor on the CHNA county profiles and HEAL project on cardiovascular disease. We asked Bansari some questions to get to know her better.
What spoke to you most about the internship that made you want to apply?
The opportunity to work with a team dedicated to making a tangible impact in healthcare, particularly in areas that might otherwise be underserved, is incredibly inspiring. I’m excited about the prospect of contributing my background in veterinary medicine to this broader mission of enhancing public health, as it aligns with my passion for improving the well-being of all living beings.
What excites you most about what you’ll be doing ?
The prospect of working on projects that directly influence community health is particularly exciting to me. The chance to learn, grow, and make a difference in a multidisciplinary environment is something I’m really enthusiastic about.
What are your favorite pass times/activities outside of work?
Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy trying out new restaurants and cooking. Traveling and exploring different cultures are passions of mine. While I wouldn’t call myself an artist, I have a knack for creating detailed anatomical sketches. I’m also a part-time reader, always striving to improve myself.

In addition to my passion for continuous learning and exploration, I’m someone who values meaningful connections and collaboration. I thrive in environments where I can combine my skills and interests to contribute to a larger mission. My background in veterinary medicine has instilled in me a strong sense of empathy and problem-solving, which I apply to various aspects of my life.
